Feeling tired? Didn't eat enough? Need more energy to finish the day?!
Well firstly, attempt to eat full meals. Try to have your meals planned out and ready to be eaten the next day(s) in advance. That is the best way to ensure you maintain a positive energy balance throughout the day.
BUT!
We all know not everything goes according to plan and that life has its way of throwing things off course without warning. So, in the event that it happens that way...
Carbs. Carbs give your body energy to be mobile and busy. Sugar isn't public enemy number 1 for most people (except in the case of diabetes, but even then a little bit won't kill you) In the event that you need quick energy a powerade/gatorade/any carbohydrate electrolyte drink will help give you a quick boost to finish your tasks! The body responds to sweet tastes even before the drink has a chance to go into circulation via the blood stream. It prepares itself to receive energy when you have that sweet taste in your mouth and then allows for more energy to be released and readily available! While all of that is going on, you are actually getting some quick energy from the sugar in the drinks which should enter your bloodstream and start circulating about 10-12m from ingestion! Just that quick boost will give you some energy to get your head off your desk and out of that puddle of drool you left! The same thing applies to workouts, whether its pre-workout or intra-workout the process is still the same!
NOW ALSO
I know too many carbs can cause a buildup of fat mass, but ONLY in a massive excess!
